The simplest way to buy crypto is a large exchange. The site author uses Bybit (affiliate link: if you sign up through it, SK Invest may earn a reward).

Sign up. A separate email and a long password from a password manager.
Protection. Turn on app-based two-factor protection right away.
Identity check. A passport and a selfie — every large exchange requires it.
Funding. By card, transfer or P2P — buying from other people while the exchange holds the coins until payment.
Buying. Stablecoins first, then in the ordinary trading section (“spot”) — bitcoin or ethereum.

Steer clear of leveraged trading, futures and “earn up to 100% a year”. That is where beginners lose money fastest.
